I currently have a dc motor on my cue lathe and I would like to slow it down some more. It has a rheostat dial on it now. Is there anything I can do to slow it even more?

Perhaps it would be a good idea to ask the folks you bought it from.

That would be Bassel. I'm not sure if he even knows what he used. I'll be at my shop in the morning and will take pictures on the motor and controller.

Since I knew nothing about how the control boxes worked, I tried to read up on what is inside. Most of what I saw involved different boards for different voltage. I asked here because I was lost. After taking mine apart for pictures I found two dials like those on a garage door opener to set up and down force. I decided to turn one and found it worked to slow the motor. Thanks for your patience and sorry I didn't provide better information.

if it is the standard controller that used to come with the Hightower .......... that is a Penn state industries controller...................

unplug it
remove the cover
there are 3 potentiometers on the board
mark them with a marker to show the original position
turn the one closest to the big brown capaditor

VERY VERY SLIGHTLY CLOCK WISE

put it all back together before you try it

do not adj it with the power on........ you will blow the board
