Lathe wanted

Got it all started up and checked out. The DRO is going to take some learning. Run out with the 4 jaw chuck I had ordered was right at .001 with a machined check piece. Not bad, I've heard slightly better and worse, so I'm not sure what to actually expect from this lathe the way it comes. The Chucks are fairly smooth with no tight spots. Lathe seems smooth and fairly quiet. I only tested things manually.
I did possibly find one issue, but hoping it's just me. On the compound rest there is an angle adjustment that should allow me to make my own custom angled collets and stuff like that. I thought if I loosened the tool post clamping lever you could rotate it that way? Well it won't budge. I'll have to ask around on some of the cue maker's forums to see what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks' to a member who messaged me here I found it. Sort of inconvenient though but not bad considering how much it will get used. The stupid thing is they put a reference mark stamped into the cross slide to reference the scale but that mark is about 3/8" from the scale lines. I'm going to make some form of pointer for that. I was thinking maybe the scale rotated with the slide but I guess not.

Try loosen the handle on top a little more, it's probably got a spring loaded pin in there, so you might have to physically lift it up and rotate it to the next position.

Turns out you have to back the cross slide way up to expose two allen bolts. Ya I assumed it was just loosen the block but that didn't do it.

Here is numobams w taper bars installed.

Let us know how it is if you purchase it.
Double check, I know some of them have different hole thru dimensions on each chuck.

I ordered mine with the 4 jaw main chuck and 3 jaw back chuck. Both seem to open up fully for the hole, 1.5" or 38mm

Also have to mention a couple things. I had been stuck till a couple days ago testing as the one screen where you can set your threading and such, not the DRO, they forgot to change to English. Some members on another forum suggested Google translate. That worked quite easily but was inconvenient. So I emailed Hang again and he got right back. Keep in mind right back is relative as there work time is while we are sleeping. But they are very prompt at replying. It was a simple push of a couple buttons in a certain order.
Also being new to me, so far I am lost as to running the DRO and emailed him last night that it would be nice if they could put out a simple youtube on how to use the DRO. When getting up this morning I see he had emailed me back that they would do that and should be available soon.
They really are quite easy to deal with all considering.
As to threading, while I have no experience yet, my understanding is being electronic, no gears to change, you are not limited to thread choices within the range allowed and yes 10 tpi seems to be one of them.
Now one final good news they shared with me this morning for some of you. It sounds like a shipment of lathes is on its way to their US warehouse in LA. This shipment will have the electronic versions with all three chuck options. the 3 & 3, the 3 & 4, and the 3& 6 jaw versions. Shipping from the LA warehouse seemed to be two weeks or less from what was reported.
So if you are still thinking of getting one, they should be available soon again in the US.
