Lathe

I'm putting out some feelers to see if there is any interest in a portable, quality, U.S.A. made lathe for doing shaft maintenance. I've made one for myself and 2 friends of mine and after much persistent encouragement from them, I am looking to see if there is any true public interest in these.

As with any labor of love there are things I would improve for marketability, little intricacies that I'm okay with but wouldn't want to sell without improving. The goal here was to create a viable alternative with a build quality exceeding that of the Sh*@psh#$ter lathe sold on ebay. (Not the drill mounted one but the bed mounted version) I feel I have nailed it. The goal is to keep the price point between $700-$1100 depending on requested features. I say that because I am considering this a "custom" lathe. As in I can build it specific to each customer. (Footprint, motor size, Chuck size, etc.)

A little background on me, I have worked in the metal fab and machine shop industries for nearly 20 years and hold a degree in electrical technology. Currently I work on water well drilling rigs for a multigenerational, family owned, well drilling business owned by a family friend.

Playing pool has forever been a passion of mine. Growing up with a table in the basement of our childhood home, we started shooting at a very young age. I like to joke that I could remember the colors/numbers of the rack before I could count and I think it is more fact than fable.

Enough with the rambling. Anyone interested I'd more than welcome to contact me through dm.

Thanks y'all for taking the time to read this post and happy shooting!

tinman3913, Howdy;

Don't buy sight unseen, post some photos so we can see what you are offering.
As you are a newish member and you've only posted twice. The amount of
scepticism is above average to say the least. Photos would be the first step then
perhaps some more postings and conversations to allow the membership to become
more acquainted with you and your work. Otherwise you come across as a person
that is attempting to flim-flam some honest minded folks outta some hard earned
monies. Just how I see it.
