, I actually have to agree....we play APA....we have 8 players, and we spend at least $150 minimum every league night....bottles of water, beer, and dinner...my tab is always at least $20, if not 40, and there are always open tables on the night we play so we don't take up space....
Also, the room owners treat us like gold.....I always practice there, which means food and water bottles minimum, along with table time when it's not league....I drive past two halls just to go to the same room because the owner knows me by name, always checks on us, and makes me feel like a true customer....also, I always see people from other teams practicing when I practice, and many play in more than one league, and they get food and beer....
Now, these are just my experiences with APA in TX and FL, so I don't know about other leagues nor other areas of the US.....as a player, I do respect the rights of a room owner to make dollars, and IMHO, the league players should respect that, and there should be clear support from the league operators, reminding their teams that room owners stay afloat making money and encouraging players to spend at league...
