How is a three way tie handled in the APA..

Situation is...

Team A-- Played team B twice splitting matches-- both scores 3-2
Played team C once winning 4-1

Team B-- Played team C twice losing both matches

Two of the three teams need to make playoffs. Which team is knocked out?

What happened the first time Team A played team B?

I think team A would be out, but Check out the manual http://www.poolplayers.com/tmanual.pdf page 37-38 and make sure you have the order in which everyone played and you should be able to figure it out. Hope this helps!

Thanks
That might be the worst way of decing a tie that I have ever heard of period. Wow One team gets in just because they didnt play first even though the team that gets ousted beat them. Crazy

I agree. 3 way ties are a *****, luckily the L/O's computer has a tie-breaker button so the comp does all the work lol

I would think that team b would be out by virtue of a 1-3 record where teams A and C both went 2-1 versus the teams in question. Tough situation.

Team A - 2 wins, 1 loss (1 win over b, 1win over c, 1 loss to b)
Team B - 1 win, 3 losses (1 win over a, 1 loss to a, 2 losses to c)
Team C - 2 wins, 1 loss. (2 wins over b, 1 loss to a)

Does this make it easier?

If you are referring to regular league play standings go by points won. In our area the top 3 teams and a wild card team at the end of the session meet in a playoff. Single elimination race to 3. The winner is the champ that moves on to the state playoffs.
