Truth be told...I didn't drink a single gulp that night...I was so excited by the big win that I lost my mind...when I went back to get my case...I gave the man a tip. I told him how I had recently returned a wallet with $300 in it to a bus boy and how I felt like I'd earned the karma points...the man then told me a story about his restoration in faith in humanity...his father had restored a rare motorcycle then sold it to pay for a funeral...the guy that bought the bike heard about the fact that the man sold it for $6000 to pay for the funeral...two weeks later he sent a letter saying that he had been looking for the bike for a while and had been ready to pay as much as $28,000 for it.

He said he couldn't keep the bike in good conscious and sent a check for $22,000 to clear his conscious. The man that told me this story today got teary-eyed telling it...today was a good day.

I captain a BCA team in Bremerton WA. Rarely does a single game mean too much. Last night it came down to the final game for first place and all the cash. Vince Draper had to win and limit his opponent to two balls in 8 ball to win the 4th and 5th round to win first place AND for Vince to win the league MVP and the $$$ that comes with it.

He didn't run out and his opponent made a ball but missed. Vince made an epic runout and won it all for him and us.

In my celebration I left my case with Johnny Archer, Earl Strickland, Nick Varner and Francisco Bustamante's signatures on it in big silver marker with $1300 in cues inside.

The Classy gentlemen of Allen's Billiards in Belfair WA, kept my case safe and I got it back today unscathed. Loving life. Thanks to all involved!

Congrats on your Teams big win and congrats on getting your gear back too. Thank goodness the room you were playing at was a good one.

About 4 years ago our finals for the Vegas trip came down to the final rack. Both me and my opponent needed the whole rack to win by total points. I won with him having 1 ball up.
