I have been trying to learn the diamond system, and can not get it figured out. Anyone have any advice to learning the diamond system, or links to web-site that teach the diamond track lines?

West,

You might want to check this thread from last week: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=78410

In any case, you might want to check out these links we have. They were made to help you find your own system.

CueTable Help

The best discussion I've read on kicking systems is in The Owner's Manual for the Complete Pool Player. Go to pjbilliards.com for more information.

In what way is that better than what has been offered here in the "Kicking Academy" or in Byrne's books or in Joe V's DVDs or in Winning One Pocket?

All I see on that web site is a place where I can send in $56 for a book. Are you willing to share any info for free?

I bought a copy, I don't sell them. Try clicking the Contact Us button and send him an e-mail. Ask him your questions. I'm just passing on some information. From the Testamonials button I'd say you could ask Tom Rossman or Charles Darling or Mark Dimik about it, it sounds like they might have read it. I know people I've showwn my copy to, loved it and bought one for themselves.

Get Robert Byrne's books. He describes many systems and usually tries to also cover the corrections you will need for different cue ball starting places, different cloth, different tables and such. There are some videos on the market, and some people have a lot more success learning from videos, but if you can learn from books, get Byrne. You might also consider finding an instructor or even an "old guy in the pool hall" to help you with this. There are also some articles on diamond systems, including what you have to do to make them work on your table at http://www.sfbilliards.com/articles/BD_articles.html -- see December of 1999 for example.

This is good advice...
