Leather Cue Cases

Good afternoon all.

I am looking to purchase a sharp leather cue case. I am considering either
a Talisman, Whitten, Instroke or Justis.

Can anyone tell me which would be the best way to go taking into consideration the best value for the amount of money spent and the lifespan of the cuecase for those of you who have owned either brand
for a long time?

Thank you in advance for any asisstance you can provide.

I started out with a custom case that looked great but didn't last long enough for what it cost! :( Then I bought a Vittore Leather Instroke Knockoff on Ebay for about $70 ! I still have it and it is now about 5 years old and looks like new ! Due to my carrying more cues now and extra shafts I bought a Instroke for much more money and frankly I wish that I could have found a larger Vittorre :( JMO and experience

I own both a Whitten (a very recently purchased 42F) and an Instroke Buffalo (3x5). The Instroke is heavy... the Whitten is light in weight. The Instroke accommodates oversized cues (60") and a standard Whitten does not. The Instroke Buffalo is build to take some scuffing and minor bumps without really showing it due to the cut of the leather... the Whitten is not. The Whitten is truly beautiful... the Instroke is simply very functional. A nice feature of the Instroke is it has a dedicated cloth sleeve in the larger pocket for the butt of a jumpstick, should you have one.

If you are very careful with your case, a Whitten is an excellent choice. If you tend not to be real careful with it, the Instroke would be a better choice that the Whitten... as it would be a shame to not take proper care of a Whitten.

Ditto...

I bought a 2x4 Leather Instroke knock-off (Vittorre) off of this guy on Ebay;

http://stores.ebay.com/CARLSCUES_CASES_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ10QQftidZ2QQtZkm

Think I paid around $90+shipping for it.... he doesn't have the exact one I bought in stock, but it was the same style as the Leather/Stingray one he does have.

Mine is like the following, but is just black leather;

http://cgi.ebay.com/2X4-Stingray-Sk...hZ009QQcategoryZ21211QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

It has held up well for me... only 2 years old, but shows very little signs of wear (and I don't baby it).

I wish I had seen this before purchasing my Instroke!

If you buy an "instroke" though, get a brand new one with the "diamond" shaped latches. They hold up better. I got one and love it!

Cases

Thank you all for the feedback.

For anyone that owns a Talisman. Did you have any problems with the ordering or receiving the case. The reason why I ask is because I noticed from the website they are located in Taihland and they do not charge for delivery to the U.S or Canada which is great.

As well, how durable are they. Would they hold up say for 15 to 20 yrs normal use.

Thanks again all.

I haven't had mine longer than a month, but I see NO problems in this. Its very well made and should hold up during normal use no problem!

the only thing i don't like about my talisman is that the lid fits reeeeeeeeaaaaly loose and the leather is starting to wear through( have had it for about 4 months)
