Leather pockets: cleaner and conditioner

Hi All - I’m refurbishing an old table, has leather pockets from 1960 that need cleaning and conditioning. I was told to avoid anything with oil in it as it would transfer to the balls and then to the felt.
Anyone have recommendations for an oil-less cleaners and conditioners?
Thanks

If you have time to start with the pockets before the table is ready to play, the product should have time to absorb back into the leather before you have to worry about it transferring to the table. I would try Blackrock Leather 'N' Rich.

i wouldn't put a thing on them. if they're old-n-cracking get new ones. anything you put on them will get on the balls/cloth.

I'd say a good saddle soap and Honey leather conditioner. I've used this combination for years albeit not on table pockets. I've used it on saddles, belts, boots and briefcases with excellent results.

Question: has anybody used any of these cleaners on actual pockets or are they all just guesses? I ask this because at Magoos they cleaned/treated the leather on all the Diamond barboxes and that shit came off on the balls for at least six months. Unless the leather is coming apart i myself wouldn't mess with it.
