It's not monkey and I don't believe it's cow either. I now believe it to be a synthetic.
The last one that I replaced (last week, going to smooth instead of textured), the wrap tore
apart like thick fibrous paper. Nothing like leather.
I like the heavy texture it carries but it's composition has put me off.
I don't expect any problems with it, on the cue and out in the world.
Good leather will generally come off in one piece though, this didn't. It tore to shreds.
Chris H. currently has some good heavily txt blk that would make a good substitute.
Matter of fact, why not show your client Chris' wrap selection on his website.
He may find something he likes even better.
