I have seen several Ginacue cues that have a rather unique leather wrap. I am sure many of you know what I am referring to, but for clarification here is a pic Lether Wrap by Ernie Gutierrez.

The wrap has two etched lines in the wrap close to the top and bottom. Can this be done by scoring the leather wrap as it is spining on the lathe? Anyone have a clue to how he des it. That man is amazing.....

Is that a Gina or a Phillippi? lol
He does it on a lathe. He has a fixture for it.
Pigcarver here has seen him do it.
Why copy his trademark? A little disrespectful imo.

No copying here

Joey,

I was just curious, but would never have it done to my JW. I also saw some PFD cues with that same wrap.

I know two other makers who have copied Ernie's two ring signature.
But, Ernie does the best leather imo.
The man is a legend.

First time I ever saw the two rings was about 10 years ago on a Thomas Wayne.

He has a special jig...and you'd be surprised, just how many cuemakers send him "high end" cues for him to put wraps on before they send them to market....I've seen him get shipments from several well known cuemakers, all with the intent for leather wraps....

And, yes, it is like a scoring of the leather that does it....
