Leather is very resilient. It will stay nice for a long, long time if you keep it clean. That is the best thing you can do. You can care for it like any other leather product. Many people are always looking for things to put on their shafts to keep it clean and slick, but there is no substitute for responsible maintenance during and after use. Simply cleaning your cue, and keeping your hands clean goes a long way.
