What type of leather wrap jigs are on the market? (for installation)

I know of and seen a DeAngelo's, have heard of but haven't seen a Unique Products, and Chris Hightower is about to release one also.

Does anyone have any photos of a Unique Products jig?

What other methods are people using?

Thanks,
Zim

I have the Unique. I think the Unique is the nuts. I was doing wraps pretty easily and looking really good from the very first try.

The camera batteries are dead right now, but I can take pics tomorrow (assuming I can remember to).

Mine is ready, but it only works with my lathe. The lathe serves as the cue holder. Indexing headstock is a must. I only have two left to sell at this time with 50 more in the works. It comes with the seaming fixture, measuring slide, and the original DeAngelo end radius template, plus six leather blanks, instructional DVD and a few odds and ends. $195

It does an equal job to any of the other fixtures, but cost half because of the elimination of the expense of something to secure the cue. One advantage to this is you can leave the cue in the lathe the whole time from start to finish if you wish. None of the switching back and forth to mark and seam. If you don't have one of my lathes DeAngelo has about 12 of his fixtures left and is quiting after those are gone. Give him or Atlas a call.

chris,
can you post some pics for people on here to see your fixture. i'm for sure that there is a lot of people on here with your equipment and as everyone knows a picture is worth a thousand words and will most likly help you sell more of these fixtures.

uniques wrap fixture

I have one also,I can't see doing it any other way,its rock solid! I'm still trying to catch a sale on the quiet spindle set up.

I finally got another small batch of these Fixtures made. I have 9 to sell right now and 40 more on the way. They are made to work on my lathes with indexing headstock.

Sorry for the delay. One advantage this one has is that you never have to take your cue on and off of the lathe from start to finish. Of coarse you can take it off while glue is tacking up if you wish but you don't have to. James King got one and said his first wrap came out great. I sure wish the first leather wrap I did years ago without a fixture came out great.

I use an unique, and I like it a lot. It is very easy to use.

I talked to Chris Hightower on the phone, and I think his works very similiar. If I did not have the unique, I would have bought one from Chris.

The DeAngelo is a good design, but since Riveria is going out of business, support and future maintainese may be an issue with his product. Just something to consider.
