Leather wrap

About to get a new to me cue that has a leather wrap on it. Not really sure I like the one on it so considering getting it redone. Debating between leather wrap or stacked leather wrap. Guess I’ve got a couple questions. Can a stacked leather wrap have the same or similar feel of a regular leather wrap? Or is it always going to be more like a wrap less cue? Is there anyone local to Arizona or nearby that does good leather wrap work?

Wraps are like many other things with pool cues. To myself I couldn't care less if a cue is wrapped or not. I played for years with wrap-less cues. Before that I played for years with Irish linen on the handles.
Currently I am using a cue with Leather, I guess it is the part of the cue that I don't think about.

I do like the way the stacked wraps look, not sure how they play.

All of the stacked leather cues (3) I have feel close to wrapless. The caveat to that is that I've never had one done myself only bought later so can't speak on if there are different options available. I've got a Lucasi that had one of their shitty rubber wraps that is falling apart so I should have that done sooner or later.

I enjoy a leather wrap. Have considered a stacked leather grip but only for change and fun. Cannot go wrong with a traditional leather wrap.

i have never played with a stacked leather wrap but if you look at the fact that stacked leather wraps are not in demand and dont seem to add value to a cue
i would surmise a leather wrap is the way to go since most prefer it (me too)

While I like no wrapped cues, I have 3 that are leather wrapped. I have a DZ leather wrapped that I like the feel best, it has a fine pebble texture. Then I have two Schon's, one with a smooth finish, like that almost as much as the fine texture DZ. Then another Schon with I think a lizard wrap. Not really sure if it's the texture, or the almost glossy finish of the leather, but that would be my least favorite of my leather cues, but it sure is a pretty cue.

You must like the tack/tackiness of the grip. I had one earlier yrs I disliked because is was shiny/not porus enough for my grip.
I used to lay it in my lap during shots with both hands holding the handle to keep it warm/soft.

Here's the cue I have been playing with for the last few years. The stacked leather wrap is really what set it apart for me. The lighter color is not as light anymore, and it probably could use a good cleaning. I'm looking into how to do that, but I still really like it.
