Leblond Lathe

I found an older Leblond lathe for $200. The guy guessed it was from the early 60's. He said everything works but it needs cleaned up. I'm going to look at it tomorrow. I asked distance between centers and all he could tell me was it was about 6' long. I asked about the spindle bore and he had no idea (he didn't have it in front of him to look). Anyone know anything about old Leblonds or if something like this could still be useful for cue work?

i think they are good.i researched and looked at many lathes a few months ago and i seem to recall they are a high end and expensive.

They are about the best of the best, 200.00 is a steel, and the older they are the better they are, prob weighs a ton, I have had several of them in my shop

Nope, not in David City but if your dad has a bunch and is selling them that cheap let me know:wink:

Well the lathe had some disappointments, mainly that the spindle bore was only about 1 1/8". Everything else was good. It had a taper bar setup on it already too. I'm probably going to buy it anyway so at least I can learn how to cut threads and stuff. For $200, why not.

Sounds like a really good find for the price. Please post a picture when you can. What is the condition of the lathe?
