Yes, the good 14.1 player would need time to learn 1pocket but virtually any good 14.1 player could become a very good 1pocket player. However a good 1pocket player might not ever become a good 14.1 player.

How? Easy. This is the inteweb. Logic need not apply.
 
I think that they would be just as good as if not better. If you have a great stroke, great aim, speed control, able to adjust to conditions and excellent control of the CB than pocket size and etc wouldn't make a difference.

Maybe not pocket size but playing with an extra 12" of length and 6" of width is undeniably
harder than any 9 ft table today.......just a fact that's overlooked in most of these assessments.
