I Went out this morning to do a 9' Olhausen with Simonis 860.
Usually they already have the rails cut, but there were no rails in the bag.

I laid the felt out on the table and it was 109 inches long.(9 foot 1 inch)

I did not get the felt directly from Simonis.
I got it from a distrubitor.
I already know he forgot the rails.

Is that enough to strech it?
Is that usually how long it is?

thats short but it will work, I usually request 112". If it's the wide bolt cut 3 rows of 6 " rails off the side.

it's from the short bolt.
Got it from West State in Long Beach.
He is telling me that all the installers use 109 inches.

Where do you get your Simonis from Donny?

109 inches is very workable. I, like Donny, prefer two or three more inches, but it will stretch to fit.

When we cut up a bolt of Simonis for nine footers we cut 111 inches of length. If you have 78 inch width goods you can process 3 six inch wide strips for the side for your rails. I always cut my rail cloth from the side without the Simonis imprint.

I get it from west state also. Tell Brian to cut it at 112" and also let him know his guys cut the cloth short. west state doesn't buy short bolts to my knowledge.

brian thought it was a long bolt until he went back to the Warehouse to measure it. I think he was suprised.

Brian lives down here in Westminster less than a mile from my house,
so when he got off he stoped by my house with the rails.

Either short bolts, 66" or long bolts 78"...and I prefer my 9ft bed cloths to be 115"...get tired of scraping the backs of my knuckles when I stretch it over the ends of the slate, as I don't use clamps or cloth pullers other than my hands.;)
