Over twenty years ago the Smithsonian planned to have 12 cues representing a cross section of American cue making at that time. The 12 artists that agreed to participate in the exhibit were:
BENDER
BLACK
BUSS
DIECKMAN
GUTIERREZ
KOHARA
MCWORTER
SAMSARA
SCHICK
STROUD
WAYNE
WESTON

It is my understanding that the exhibit never came to be and those cues are sitting in storage. With the exception of Gutierrez who may not have sent his cue for submission.

It is also my understanding that there are duplicates of these cues available on the private market. My goal is to finally create the Smithsonian Exhibit right here in this Post using photos of the duplicates. Lets make this happen.

I will be uploading pictures of Jim Buss's submission.

Thanks to all

These all show up in the Smithsonian archives (without photos):

I think all have been pictured here at one time or another...but it might be impossible for one to find all of them now.

Point being, great idea.

That said, it is a shame ebay pics need to be used. Those cues deserve better and as evidenced by many of our azb cue sellers, quality pictures aren't that hard to create.

I don't believe Dieckman made 2.
At least I don't remember him saying that.

I think Paul Drexler gifted a cue also.
