Thsi is my opinion on this subject. And you have it right when you say i don't like KT and any of his games.

but to bash anybody or everybody before anybody really knows what is going on is just wasting alot of time and effort that we could/should put into making pool better in our own little area of the pool world. If we can accomplish that then we can improve pool itself. Does pool need the big money to become legitimate. I don't think so. What we need are more people like Mr Randy Goldwater, that can afford to do it, who loves the game enough to step up and get something going. everybody on here must know someone who could help them get a small (maybe $5,000) tournament off the ground in their area.
Here in Albany NY the local room owner went out and sold banner space (2'x4' space) to alot of the local business's for only $250.00 per banner. and then you get a banner company to sponsor you by making up the banners cheap. In larger cities you could get $400.00 or more for a banner that size. And remember, it hangs in the local room for a year. And it is a business tax deduction as advertising. So rather than bash the IPT, KT, MS or Deno Andrews or anybody else lets everybody just step up to the plate and get something going in your own area to keep the players busy while this thing shakes out. remember. it only takes maybe 10-12 customers to sign up to get the ball rolling.

And i don't blame Deno for not answering. He cannot do it without getting dragged into other parts of the board. And to talk with people who have nothing to do with the IPT other than being a spectator would be fruitless. Just fuel more speculation. So it is better for Deno to keep his mouth shut and just let the IPT brass handle everything. thats what i would do. so everybody jump on the band wagon and lets keep the players busy for awhile.............................mike

I agree Mike, but still, consistency counts in sustaining a large scale tour.

When I donated the prize fund for the straight pool world championships, it really amounted to nothing more than charity. Unfortunately, momnetum is seasonal, and sustaining the desire to run an event without real sponsorship and exposure is difficult.

Because pool is so fractured, and it's exposure is limited to very little air time and less time in print, reaching new audiences is really key. This is why I thought the ipt would be great. Throwing lots of money at a problem is generally not a good plan, but in this case I believed it would work out, in the long run. I would love to think that the ipt could be a VIABLE, SUSTAINED tour. I commend KT for trying, posting up more money than everyone who has ventured in our directions before. There is no doubt in my mind that if he had the will, he could dig deeper, and make this work. The fact that players are waiting on checks they have earned, this long, imo, wll be their death knell.

Btw, our friend Mike Zuglan is to be more admired than some flush fool like myself. A guy like that who plays jam up, always handles himself with dignity and gives unconditional respect, and hosts one of the most important regional tours in the WORLD. He does it all, and with CLASS.

Thanks for the kind words anyway, mike.

Problem

Mike, if there was a reasonable chance to break even, I would cough up $5,000. Like Randy said, it is charity. I think there are a lot more people out there in the world that need charity than US pool players. What are they going to do, gamble their winnings away. I would much rather feed and cloth the poor. Buy medicine for some old folks who can't afford it.
Anything but piss it away for my egos sake.

Some things are obvious

Some things are obvious Deno cannot get involved in interacting on the board. I would not expect him to. What I would expect is if they can use it in the past as a general purpose announcement forum, they could post up a quick update.

Now the question to be had is should this all blow up, how personally responsible do you hold Deno? He's not working in the Warehouse over there. He's supposed to be the Tour Director. That would imply the Number 2 spot.

Deno Andrews is listed on the IPT site as being the Chief Operating Officer.

Good then he's the Head Priest...or top 3 at minimum.
