Let's Start A Campaign

I can't rep Smorg cause I have to spread it around first. I thought maybe everyone else could rep him.
Another good topic here is Keith McCready. Maybe JAM could post the tournies that he won back in the day. I know he was known more for his prowess in the back rooms after tournies, but it would be fun to find out what tournies he won or placed high in.

Stay tuned for an ELABORATE listing of Keith's triumphs, to include more than tournaments.  :o:grin-square::)

I used to hold Hall of Fame recognition and tin cups in high esteem for pool, but I don't anymore. They don't put one dime into the player's pocket. I do know one Hall of Famer who is, in fact, very proud of his recognition, but I also know others who are suffering in their elder years. Nobody gives a damn either.

Keith won quite a few tournaments back in the '80s era, his time to shine, but even when he did not win the actual tournament, he usually left town with more money in his pockets than the first-place winner.

After all, isn't it all about money? Does being number one put a roof over your head in pool? :frown:

The largest tournament McCready won was the BC Open in Binghamton against Spanish Mike Lebron for 25 big ones. This 25,000 was the largest payout at that time for a pool tournament. It'd be like winning $100,000 today.

Thanks for the info. The only time I saw Keith play was in 89/90 in the Phoenix area. He was in the finals with Kim Davenport. My ex might still have the tape but unforunately we don't talk much any more.:( I had both Keith and Kim autograph the tape, so it would be nice to get it back some day. Hopefully it did not get thrown out.

Another student of jimmy reid...............

Keith was another one of Jimmy Reid's students. They are still great friends and appear in photo's all over the net. Every time I call Jimmy, he has some funny story to tell about him and Keith on the road.
