Looking for or where to get a 3/8x14 Cuetec joint pin. Didn't see any on Atlas or Prather sites.

The Cuetec pin is an oddball. I measured one one time and it was .361-14,which is undersized a pretty good bit under a true 3/8. I've also heard it referred to as a 9mm or Metric diameter. I made my lathe pin at .360.

J+J is supposedly hard to get pins from, and no one sells them that I know of.

Your choices are simple. Either hope you run up on a broken one and scavenge it,or find someone that has a full sized metal lathe and skill to run it and have them make you one. Just make sure they know it's undersized instead of telling them a true 3/8,that way you don't wind up with a surprise.

The taps are the same deal. Many have made their own. I think Atlas sells the tap but no idea if it's true or undersized. Tommy D.

Why not just change it to something more common since you have to replace it anyways ?? At least that is what I did. I had one that the pin had come out of sometime in the past and the owner decided to try and slap it back in with some epoxy one night when he was drunk. Not only did he NOT have a lathe, but also tried it drunk sitting on the couch, so you can only imagine the end result.

I pulled the old pin, drilled and bored the hole, filled it with a piece of purpleheart, and put a 5/16-14 pin in it so he could use the shafts from his Joss cue on his Cuetec also IF he wated to. Drilled the plastic/phenolic insert out of the shaft and put in a brass insert and it's been going strong ever since.

The old pin was undamaged so I ground it down on each side and made a tap out of it. (Thanks to KJ for that tip) If it wasn't for that, I would have an old salvaged pin to give you.
