Every sports (nfl, mlb, etc) printed cloth on a green background originates thru Imperial.
We had the Titans cloth in our bar in TN. The quality is suspect (spelled cheap) and I'm not sure if Imperial has or is going
to can their printer for those cloths. You could call to see if they are still available direct from Imperial or you can try
Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Bears-Imperia...e=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1181169321&sr=1-5

Sideline advertises nfl cloth but I couldn't comment on the quality. http://www.sidelinemvp.com/poolfelt.html

They all use dye-unset printing which typically results in an uneven surface in the printed area (regardless that they say it does not).

If your customer is interested in Soldier Field he might consider this
which is completely printed end to end (not dye-unset or silkscreened):

I have never bought from this place but they have the best price on licensed logo cloth I have come across, hope this helps.

$299 at Amazon. I doubt you'd find it much cheaper anywhere else at retail. If I remember correctly we paid $165 (dealer price) when we had an account with Imperial (been awhile) but we only bought for use on our bar tables and not for resale. Frankly it was cheap, the printed surface was slightly uneven and didn't last long. It looked cool if that matters.

cloth

Thanx Guys,
I looked at Imperial and i did not see a picture of the cloth. That is why i did not think they carried it. I will check with them. Also Dartman, i emailed a picture of Soldier field and hopefully he likes that. Please pm me with a price.
Thanx, Ron

this maybe a silly question, but i have noticed felt like this costs like 500 bucks... is it worsted??? and what would the speed compare to in regards to simonis and velocity pro?? reason asking, wife wants to dress our pool table, and the only way i will allow it, is if it doesnt effect the playability of it. its a 9 foot table.
thanks
sean

This nfl cloth is horrible. I do not know how they even call it cloth! It's nothing like real cloth. We describe it a very thin cardboard! Maybe Rick can tell us what it's made of. As Rick stated, it definitely does not hold up with play. Looks incredible when new but after a couple months of little play it really looks worn.

I got a cincinnati reds logo cloth from imperial about a year and a half ago. The red color of the cloth was very unique to the team and the logo was nice. It was different than the logo cloth i've seen in the past and was definitely different than championships printed cloth. It had no nap to it at all and absolutely no stretch. you had to cut the rail cloth off the bed not rip it but they gave you a good inch of wiggle room to use a scissors. It is 275 for 8' and 295 9'. The bears cloth is black with a orange c in middle.
Call Jeff Blackoff at Imperial 201-288-9199 or 800 526 6261. If the Nfl cloth is made the same as MLB and its the same as it was a year or two ago its actually very good quality for play and looks.

Talk about resurrecting old threads, LOL.

My opinion on the Imperial licensed cloth (NFL, MLB, NBA, etc) has not changed.
Looks good when you unfold it it but doesn't hold up to play.
FanHut sells gaming cloth, not billiard cloth and I'd presume it won't hold up either.

FYI - Championship is basically out of the printed billiard cloth business since they sold
their printer to Midwest Gaming. Midwest is printing "some" licensed designs for other companies
like the Bud and Harley prints for Ace Products. As far as I know, Championship never held "licenses"
but printed for companies that did. All the printing was done on 3045 white Ultra and they have had
many problems with the raw cloth.

Simonis (USA) used to offer one-off printed beds and may offer that service again if and when they approve
a new printer. You can get printed designs on Simonis thru the plant in Belgium but would need to contact Ivan for pricing and particulars.

Bottom line on printed cloth - you get what you pay for.
These days we're using Hainsworth worsted cloth - pricey but top quality cloth with excellent
printing that doesn't fade, pill or affect ball roll. Bob (mechanic/player) installed one for us in his area
so he can give his opinion on the cloth as well.

The Soldier Field design cloth is not worsted. It's undyed (white) Championship Ultra.
Ultra (what we call the poor mans simonis) is the fastest of the napped cloths but slower and less precise then a true worsted.

Artscape as an alternative

For imprinted cloths you might want to investigate Milliken's Artrscape line. There are currently no licenses such as the NFL or NCAA, however the cloth is the same as the Milliken Super Pro, so you do get a professional grade, worsted cloth with virtually any image you can provide and legally reproduce. Plus, all Milliken cloth is protected with Spillguard, so it will not absorb spills...it even repels red wine. Here is a link to some stock patterns, and I can send custom work if you PM me and let me know you are interested.

Has anybody ever used these? I have seen them and was wondering. The flames would go good in a biker bar. LOL Wondering how it hold up?

Wondering how goofy-eyed you'd get playing on those designs.
Then again some of the stock D&R designs were pretty far out too.

While I haven't played on the ArtScape cloth, I have spoken with some installers here in the Charlotte area who have installed and played on it, and it plays surprisingly well.

Anyone who has been to the Sterling Pavilion at the Super Billiards Expo and payed on the tables has experienced playing on Artscape cloth.

The cloth is the exact same as the Milliken Super Pro, the only difference being the design that is imprinted on it. They start with what is essentially a white (or non-colored at least) cut of Super Pro, then run it through what is essentially a giant ink-jet printer. This is all coming of sort of laymans terms since I am not a fabrics and textile expert. The colors are set into this cloth so that they do not run, they do not affect the play of the cloth, and they are colorfast, even in sunlight. It is by far and away the best imprinted cloth on the market.

Designer and custom designs on cloth is not for everyone though, and many folks did feel a little distracted when we put a girl in a bikini on the tables at the SBE.
