Life Changes...

Hey Zim.

Congratulations. Both Bob and I wish you and yours the very best luck in the future. You are a great guy, good friend and I know whatever you do in the future, you will be a huge asset to tour colleagues.

Before you actually pack it in Zim is there any chance of one last flypast? It's my anniversarry next week and one of those smoke writing thingies would go down a treat. Something along the lines of 'Ann, I Love You, Let Me In You Bitch'. Please. It's freezing in the shed.

Zim I thought you were going for a 20 year AF pension, but I wish you good luck, and I what getting out means. Freedom, and Getting your life back to do what you want to do, when you want to do it. Not Uncle in command of your life.

;)

I have no regrets for doing my time for our country, nor do I have any regrets on starting a new career. My goal was to retire from the AF after 20 years of service at the age of 43 and then open up a Sports Bar. Well, I have a fantastic wife, who is Active Duty Air Force and has been for 13 years, a super 12 year old step-son, who has an education level of a Senior in High School and a 9 month old son, named Michael Ray Zimmerman II (MJ). My priorities have changed more toward the family lifestyle, not the travel the world and work for the US Military. I chose to become an Elementary Teacher to enable more time with my children. I'll be able to teach at the same school as MJ and have most of my summers off to spend with the family. My business, Zim's Rack, will be more active now, I hope! I really enjoy teaching/playing pool and only hope that I can spread that to others.

Thanks to all for your support and comments,
Zim

Zim, continue on in life with the same class, dignity and resepct for others you've always shown us on this forum and your future will be a very bright one indeed.

Good luck at Southern Illinois. We New Yorkers have a soft spot for Southern Illinois University, for in the mid-1960's, a pretty darn good basketball player, who went on to play for the New York Knicks and who is now in the NBA all of Fame, played there...............and that would be Walt "Clyde" Frazier.

SJM,
Clyde attended SIU-Carbondale. I'm not sure where Edwardsville is, but hopefully some of his panache will transfer to the other campus.

Also good luck to Zim. I was hoping to meet you when I went to St. Louis this summer (lesson with Mark W.).

The class that you have shown and the respect that you treat people with on this forum says ALOT. I see the "ZimMan" having no problems conquering anything he chooses to tackle!

GOOD LUCK MIKE

Edwardsville Illinois is about 15 minutes East of St. Louis Missouri just off of I-270. Carbondale is about 2 hours South!

Again, thanks to all! The encouraging words mean alot at this time in my life. I've always done my best to respect and help anyone on this forum in what ever way I could.

Good luck to you!

I wish you the best with the new career. I am looking at the same desicsion soon as well. I am active duty Coast Guard, newly married, (hasn't even been a week yet) and have a baby on the way, my enlistment is up in October 2006, at that point I will have 9 years active and be E-6, I am not sure what I am going to do but, I am already looking at things differently than I was. Again good luck to you, I am glad to hear you will be making the most of your GI bill money.

I joined the U.S. Marines with the same ambitions of retiring after 20 years. I ended up serving 4 years and moved on to other things. Best of luck to you. I'm sure you'll exceed in whatever you do in life.

I almost joined the army when I was 18 then realized that, that wouldnt be good for me then I moved to greater things! Now I go on pool forums and everything its great!! :p Good luck with your future sounds like you have a direction now you just need to follow it! Also thanks for serving and protecting me!! I appreciate it!!
