Light reflection aiming

I recently played with a long-time A+ speed player who uses the light reflection on cue and object ball to aim. Took him all of 30sec. to explain his system. All i can say is, it works, especially on longer shots. Anybody else use this? I know it sounds kinda out-there but when used along with cte/90-90 it really locks you in.

I'll try: say you're cutting the ball to the left. Stand behind the cue-ball and you'll see the light's reflections on both balls. Line-up left edge of reflection on cue-ball to right edge of reflection on object ball. Shoot.

What if you need to cut it a little more or less?

Yes, some swear by it, until tournament night when one of the three light bulbs over Table 1 breaks and you start double-banking all your cut shots in the finals! ;)

Seriously, lights (and shadows) works wonders for some but...

garczar... Not to say this doesn't work for you but... IMO using reflections depends on the lighting.
Lights don't change positions, but the balls do. A single bulb would reflect differently off of 2 balls.

If one ball is under the light, and another near a side rail, reflections change when angles change.

That is how it theoretically works in an 'objective' way similar to the shadows methods.

As you walk around a table you see the reflection on different points on the ball. Near straight in cut vs a thin cut the reflection is seen on a different point on the ball.

I've found that is worked better with the old time lights at the 'center' of the table vs the new Diamond full table diffused lights. But... I sill think it is useful.

Best Wishes to ALL.
