Good Evening,

I have been doing some research on the appropriate height to install a light above a 9ft table. I have read that 60" from the floor produces good lighting. From your experiences, what is the best height to cut down on shadows? What type of bulbs would you recommend to use? Thanks for any input.

It depends on the light. The Diamond lights we have are 4'x8', are hung
78" above the floor, and each have (4) 75 watt 5000 (color) Sylvania Deluxe Daylight 8' bulbs. 60" is, in my opinion, too low for most light designs. Whatever light design you use, I'd look at getting bulbs that are at least 3500 as a color. It's a brighter, whiter light-bordering on blue if you get as high as 6500-that will make a big difference. The 6500 is nice on the tour blue cloth. Not to seem overly anal, or anything, but the right light really does matter:smile:

The color number of the lighting you choose will also change the color of the cloth.
Some lighting is too warm looking and some of the brighter colors are too harsh. IMO
