My basement table is lit by six flood lights at about eight feet high (yep, a high basement ceiling). I can't use a drop light because we use the table often for ping-pong, and a drop light would interfere.
For a variety of reasons, I'm committed to lighting the table with energy-efficient bulbs. But I'm still not satisfied with the results. It's better than most bar tables, true, but not as good as I'd hoped for. Recently I installed two LED flood lights in the interior sockets. These bulbs are rated at only 40 watts but seem to be brighter than the 90-watt bulbs in the other four sockets.
But the LED lights cast a cold, bluish light that seems to enhance shadows -- not a good thing.
Can anyone recommend a certain bulb, or spot light, or flood light, that would properly light the table? Thanks in advance for any help.
