Linen wrap

I have a McDermott that came with a half polished wrap and half not. Its like I have a sandpaper wrap and is really annoying to shoot with.
What can I use to give it a nice polish and make it smooth again?
Thanks,
Terry.

OK Terry, here is what you do.
Put the cue in your lathe and clean the wrap real good using soapy water and lots of paper towels.
If the linen is not old and rotted then you can use some spray starch and your linen press to press the wrap down while spinning it in your lathe.
The friction will make heat and the heat will dry the linen quickly.
Be careful around the edge where the wood meets the linen as you can bugger up the finish on the cue.
If during this process you break the linen you will need to strip it off and replace it with new.
If you need instructions on how to do that just let me know.

Or you can pay a cue repair guy to clean and polish your wrap on his equipment if you feel the job is beyond your ability.

Two things Terry:
You can either send the cue back to McDermott since they have one of the best warranties in the industry, or you can do as Willie says and leave it to a professional. It's a nice cue. Why mess around with your investment?

Thanks guys, I don't have a lathe yet. There is only 1 person in the city who does repairs. Great work but just got the equipment to do linen, so I guess I will be his 1st customer. Was just hoping I could use spray starch and rub it in quick by hand. I was wondering if there were any chemicals in the spray that would harm the linen or will any spray starch do.

Wish it was that easy.
Once you wet and clean the linen it will puff up and need to be pressed and polished back down. Some players like the rough feel as opposed to smooth.

The rubbing in by hand with starch was a suggestion from Dale Perry. Glad I asked here first before trying it. I could have had a mess.
Thanks for your help. I should clarify better. The wrap is pressed well and somewhat polished. It just has annoying fuzzys on it. The guy here has a Hightower and just got linen equipment so I guess I'll go over and watch the process.
