Lining?

Surely someone has some info on Antonio Linings action by now?

He joined in 17th Japan Open last weekend but lost to Hsia Hui-Kai from taiwan in semi-final.

yes I have, a few times. He finished third in a tourney in Wilmington and I have seen him at the open a couple of times. The way he is talked about on this board he could give Efren, Earl, and Wimpy the seven out, give mosconi 100 pts. to 500 and give Efren, Cliff, and Jose a ball and the breaks in one pocket.

To all the believers, sell me the fact that Antonio Lining is a great player. Has he ever won the World Championships, US Open, any old camel event? Just tell me what he has won, or who he beat to make him so great?????

Can anyone tell me he has beaten Alex Pagulayan or Johnny Archer gambling. Or maybe winning a major event with all the top players in the field. That would be a start.

NC, you have a point about Lining's tourney record. Just don't bet more than a thousand on your assessment...

Well he plays mostly in asia which is why he's not as famous as the other pinoy players. But heck if he were to play in Canada i bet he could be a star in no time and even in the states.

Can you tell us if he's played either of them? If he has, it would have been a pretty dead-even match.

Tournament records are not the way you judge how good someone gambles.

Absolutely. Short races of 9 ball are a ridiculous way to try to assess players. In fact, even long races of 9 ball are a ridiculous way to assess professional pool players - they are all good enough to run out if the layout is set up right, none of them can get out if the layout is wrong (see "The Color of Money with Efren and Earl - not much difference). If they played straight pool to 2500, I would bet there would be a big difference.

Yup. Anybody wanna stake Charlie W. against Lining?
:)

I heard from luat that he gives santos the 6 and 8 and has never lost a set like that Lining most play good! better for the cash tan a tournament.

Luat won't be able to give Santos that kind of weight now.
Lining used to give Santos a lot of weight too.
Lining is a very good money player.

Few years ago, Santos was considered B/C player back in the Phillipines. He seems to have improved but still needs weight from Lining. Lining is definitely in the top tier as far as gambling goes. Johhny Archer won't be jumping off an airplane anytime soon to play Lining...

Alex Pagulayan also took park in Japan Open, but he was eliminated by two Japanese, and I don't think Johny Acher has more opportunities to defeat Hsia. If Lining can stay in USA, I think he can win more titles. Besides, it is a cruel fact- Johny Acher also didn't played well in Asia......

who is the scorpion?

please tell me your kidding... or that maybe your from northern albania and this is your first time having anything to do with pool in the U.S.

let me see... he was named player of the decade for the 90's...
several world titles...
one of the best 9 ball players around today...
the list goes on but im not all that well informed as to exactly what he has done so ill let you check it out for yourself...

I don't know this Johny Acher that you speak of, but Johnny Archer is a "Bad Mu'faker!"
