Liu Haitao 劉海濤 vs Karl Boyes

And then again, maybe not.

Boyes was down 6 racks, now he's on the hill!

the 8-4 score was his biggest deficit, not 6 games. There has been a lot of comebacks this year, 4 is nothing. In back to back matches Corey won a match he trailed 9 - 1 to Biado then lost the very next match to Ralf in which Corey led 8 - 4.

Wasn't it 9-4? I thought Boyes won the last seven racks.

Indeed it was 4-9! And then he got the last 7 games!

And made some incredible shots in the process.

All of these guys are shooting unbelievably well at this point. Accu-stats of low to mid 900's for the most part. Any mistake can cost you the match, which is how we all hope it will be at this elite level. This is the best pool I ever remember watching in one place. What a way to celebrate the 40th Open! :)

Never was a Boyes fan before, but this guy just showed so much heart winning this that I have to root for him in the finals.

Go Karl!

He can come off as kind of a douche when watching him and he is clearly brimming with self confidence, but I really like watching him play. He has a freaking insanely smooth and accurate stroke and plays a very aggressive potting orientated style of game.

I also think he is way underrated here on AZB, Karl when he is on is right up there with Appleton and Feijen as a top player in Europe. He is showing a lot of people here just how he managed to become a world champion.
