Lizard in the long run.

I never gave much thought to a lizard wrap before, but that was before this weekend when I got to feel one. I would have never believed they felt that luxurious and smooth.

I have a cue commissioned right now and am thinking seriously about asking the maker to make it a lizard wrap.

So, people who have owned these. How does the thin leather hold up over time? Does sweat bother it? Do you have to practice special care with it?

Just make sure there is a finish on it... I like Behlans. Wipe it down with a soft cloth after play and you should never have a problem. Go with genuine lizard and not the lizard embossed stuff.

I'm definitely only interested in genuine lizard. Wouldn't the finish change the texture?

The Behlen's will change it a little, but for the better IMO. It also puts a nice shine on the wrap. Just make sure you (or the cuemaker) do not use too much... a little goes a long way.

I have been playing with a lizard wrap on my current player now for about 4 months (heavy play) and it still looks brand new. I have had cues with lizard wraps I played with for years and they have always held up very well.

Just ask any lizard... they work very well for them!

I also was wanting to add a black lizard wrap to my cue. Proficient Billiards charges $225 to put one on.

Is this a reasonable price? Are there cheaper vendors out there that do good work?

Thats what I was thinking. They crawl over rocks etc, and they don't seem to have a problem with their clothes that God gave them.

Monitor Lizard? I always thought that was a computer Geek.
