Lizard wrap question

I just got a new cue that has a lizard wrap. I love the look but the feel is taking a little getting used to. It seems dry and smooth to the touch and plays more like a linnen wrap.

Is there any type of leather treatment that can be applied to cue wraps to give them a little more tack?

Thanks all,
Steve

Feibings leather care products makes a product for the care of reptile skin.
It will soften up your wrap.

I highly recommend Aussie Leather Conditioner with Beeswax. This is what I use on the leather wraps that I manufacture.
This especially works great on natural cowide. It will slightly tan the natural cowide but also give it a nice tacky feeling.

I don't recommend using any leather conditioner that has silicone in it because this will clog the leather pores and reduce the life of the leather.

is it real or embossed? i have heard a few players say the lizard takes getting use too. after a few times you forget its even there...

I have a half dozen faux ostrich skin wraps, Dave.
They are very well done and good looking. I just can't get my head around
what all those little bumps might feel like. Probably won't slip outta your hand tho.

I've got the same situation with a new leather wrap. Good info, thanks.....
