Lizard Wrap + Water = Dull??

Hi,

I recently bought a cue with a lizard wrap. I found out today that if I wipe it with a damp cloth, it becomes really dull, and the cloth starts getting black stains. Should I be concerned or is this normal?

The only thing I know about lizards is that when it rains their colors don't run (and they're cute little critters). Are you sure it's genuine lizard?

id take it back. you got a cheap wrap it sounds like. ive played around with alot of dead animal skin making cases and whatnot and ive never had anything do that. it may not be the persons fault that did it for you though, dont forget that he didnt skin the animal he just installed it probably. if its not real and its embossed leather then same deal and the protective finish or the dye itself was cheap or not applied properly. ive even completely switched dyes to a better dye because of a similar problem and have over 200 bucks worth of dye i will never use now. also sometimes dye can just come out bad like when u get paint mixed at home depot or something. its rare but it happens so im sure that youll get it fixed cheap if not free. good luck

Fiebings Boot Care.
Reptile cleaner and conditioner. I use it on my python boots. It'll soften the scales and put a shine back in them. I haven't tried it on live ones yet so can't vouch for it that way. Tiger Products have a product they sell for their stack wraps. Leather shine. You could PM Crown City Cory and ask him if it would work on reptile wraps.

The color shouldn't come off, and it shouldn't turn dull.
I've got a cue with a black lizard wrap, which I've cleaned with a damp cloth many times. It's still as shiny as it was the day the cuemaker ran over it with his pickup.

get a good sealer and put it on it will bring the shine back had the same problem with mind on my Joss West looks like brand new

The wrap is from Carolina Cues. I've had some problems with them, but I don't think they are going to give me a fake wrap when I requested a real one right?

Bit confused...

I have a carolina cue with a plain leather wrap, be very careful what you put on it. It can get sticky ,try a small spot if possible. The black I beleive could have been shoe polish to help hide the seam an shine the wrap. Their are some real experts on here that can recomend products that will solve your lizard wrap.
