I was using the gel in the blue bottle. Now I see they have a red bottle "super high strength"....and a black bottle "impact resistant" ( has some rubber in it ? ). Which is best ? I'm sooooo confused...lol.
I'm still confused...lol :sorry:
Thanks sir. :grin:Short answer. Black bottle works well. But you need to prime the tips first with the cyano in the red bottle for best results.
To prime the tips, I first lightly sand the glaze off of the glue side of the tip. I then put a drop of thin cyano on an index card and rub the glue side of the tip in the cyano. I wait about 30 seconds for it to dry and then sand again. I repeat this process.
The reason for priming is that some tips wick up all of the cyano and you don't get a good bond. Moori's are bad about this. Priming solves the problem.
Then I use the black Lotite gel to apply the tip.
Hope this helps...
