Long term storage

Hello all, moving to home with no pool table, or room for one, so storage for about 2 years a must. I bought those velvet storage sleeves, 1 B/2 S holders. Best to store lying flat, or attempt to get them standing straight up and down? Also, if flat, can i stack them on top of each other? I know this is not the right way to do it, but i can afford to buy storage cases for 27 cues. TIA

How long is long time storage? Are you planning on not playing for the next two years?

If you were to store your cues for the next two years, I would store them screwed together and as vertical as possible. DO NOT store your cues flat for a long period of time.

It will be at least 2 years till i get a table back. I have a 3/6 case i will keep 3 cues in for playing if i get a chance, the rest need to find a nice place to rest :). I have then currently stored vertically in custom in wall storage units..cant take those with me :(.

Depending on how many cues you have, you might want to invest in a dealer case or a large cue rack for a wall in the home.

This is how I store them. Feel free to give input:

Screw the cue together. Hang it from the tip in a closet. Let it dangle straight down, unobstructed, not touching the floor. The gravity should keep the cue straight.

+1

I bought a couple of these a few years ago, I had an older Dufferin with a nasty warp. So bad that when I rolled the cue on the table there was roughly an inch between the tip and the slate.

Snapped the cue into the rubber and left it alone for the summer...

It ain't perfect, there's still some warp. But it doesn't look like a bow anymore, either. Now the tip leaves the table with about 1/4" between tip and slate.

Mickey --- Will hang it for another couple months ;)
