longest string of 8 ball on a barbox

I believe some guy name Keith was rumored to have run 21 in a row. I heard he was was decent player

I played James Walden 8 ball on a Gold Crown, and he didn't miss for over an hour and 40 minutes. About 13 or 14 games at least

Was Souquet's 26 on a barbox or 9 footer? 8 ball on a 9 footer generally yields more break and runs than 9 ball on a 9 footer and vice versa for a BB.

26 on a barbox seems quite out of this world, while I could somewhat imagine 26 on a 9 footer. I never play 8 ball and I have a 4 pack on a 9 footer. lol.

I watched Sigel "warm up" on a big table for the IPT stint by break and running a handful of 8-ball racks and someone said that he had just finished his 10th in a row. It never looked like he could have ever NOT broke and run as the same ball was going in the pocket every break.

Neils told a bunch of us that on a big table, he broke and ran over 30 in a row in 8-ball. With an open table and a ball down and easier pockets, I can believe it.

Freddie <~~~ but then again, I believe in aliens mating with big foot created Atlantis...

i find it hard to believe someone can break 20 times in a row and make a ball, am i missing something here?

I would agree if we were talking about 9 ball; however, I don't think it is all that uncommon in 8-ball.

I agree. Even on tougher equipment, the top players seem to have no problem with 8-ball on a bar box. 18 doesn't seem far fetched for a "low level pro."

To run that many racks in a row obviously takes tremendous skill, but also a considerable amount of luck too

So you guys are telling me that the best barbox player in the world who himself only claimed around a max of 10 to 15 is worse than a player who I have heard many many many MANY players including as low as VNEA AA players say they have seen him lose to low players, and who have beat them himself? If it was 9 ball I can for sure see that happening, I myself can run big packs of 9 ball on a barbox and even in 8 ball I can put good packs together. Or even if he was playing the ghost, breaking then taking ball in hand I would believe it but NOT breaking and running that many in a row, without one safe, or one miss in 18 games. and we are NOT talking about a Dave Matlock or SVB or a Ralph Souquet, or a keith mcready. I would put him in the same bracket as maybe Jamie Barraks(spell check) who is a very solid player but someone you don't see putting an 18 pack together.

i was told that bobby legg ran 13 racks of 8 ball on a bar table over @ this guys house he'd play @ on sundays, he said he made five 8 on the breaks and ran the other 8, have no reason to doubt the story and it woulda been on a bar table because that's all the guy he was playing plays on

supposedly bobby ran 20 racks of 9 ball on a big table @ johnson city but i have only heard that from one guy, he was allegedly playing incardona but i figured if he ran that many i woulda read it on here

I know Scott Lee has ran 23 racks of 8ball but I cant remember if it was on a bar box or bigger table

I am not talking about 8 on the breaks, im talking all runs outs

Most I have done is a 4 pack of 8 ball. I had a 3 pack in league, but I have to say that breaking on a table without Simonis cloth makes it alot harder.

I just came back from a 7ft'er with Simonis and breaking 8 ball was alot easier. I didn't always make a ball, but it had a great spread. Seems like on slower cloth I always get a s*** rack from the other guy.

9 Ball I've done a number of 5 packs. Not against the ghost, but playing for real against an opponent. It's a great feeling, but again, seems like on the 6th rack I get hooked after dropping 2 balls, or scratch, lol.

I've never seen anyone run a huge amount on a bar table around here. I'm sure it's been done, b/c the only people that watched the 4 pack of 8ball was the small group watching (2 or 3 people). The 5 packs in 9 ball were seen only by 5 or so people. So I could see how someone would do it, and it not be seen, lol.

Props to whoever can do 5 or more, really. Seems like a butt ton of luck would help you continue the run, but obviously the skill has to be there as well.

I haven't played 8ball in years... I did play 1 masters session where we got screwed in the playoff 3 years ago by them scheduling playoffs on the fly... we won on a Monday and they scheduled us for Tuesday.... I was out of state but no matter... didn't matter that they never even posted the schedule they called our captain and said we were playing regardless... I was on a team that was just a bunch of good guys they would fight for every single point they could knowing I would usually cover the points needed as long as we made it to my match......

Since I had sluffed off some rust from my 8ball patterns I had the opportunity of showing one of the new players he needed to keep practicing before he was gambling....

Kip is a really good guy but doesn't understand the level differences yet... I was telling him to quit gambling for awhile and practice some... He was 90+% loser and was being hustled by a guy regularly that I'd have to play even.....

He opened his mouth and challenged me to show him how easy 8ball was.... The 8overs we played on have always broken easy... 3balls is the norm off the break for me at least......

After I sank the 5th 8ball I stood up and unscrewed my cue.... I asked him if he thought maybe he needed to practice yet? He sat his beer down and walked out the front door......

If you can break 8ball you can run racks... A proper break tends to not leave clusters... If your break is leaving clusters you either need to power up or power down........

I have seen LOTSSSSSSSSSS of 5 packs and more of 8 ball on a barbox. That in itself is not rare at all, at least around here but there are tons of masters players. I wouldn't even be suprised to hear of 10 packs of 8 ball, I would be very very impressed and perhaps slightly skeptical but I would believe it depending on the player. As far as 9 ball goes ive seen lots and lots of people run out the complete set in races to 7 and 9. 9 ball is just too easy on a barbox especially if the table is breaking easy then honestly the sky is the limit with a good enough player.

boy you're right; its all about the break. I could run a couple on a good day before always got hooked on some ball or broke dry. Tried harder; always flew the thing off the table; softer left clusters. Finally I said hell with this I'm buying a BK2 with icebreaker tip to see if that would help. I always get at least one on the break and very few clusters. Feel now I can runout anytime I want; ran a 4 pack right after I got the thing. Sometimes its the little things ! A friend of mine ran a 12 pack on a BB once; I challenged him to a race to 20. I won first two then broke dry and he commenced to running the next 12 racks. I told him he could only do that because I was an elite racker !! :)

Elite rackers are a rare breed and should always be awarded super extra best friends status.... He should be checking on you weekly to make sure you are feeling well and he doesn't need to bring you anything....
