Have any of you used this Two-star 3 cushion cue? I am purchasing my first 3 cushion cue and want to get a simple (cheap) butt, and then get an upgraded shaft. I was thinking the Pro 2+ shaft (Eiffel profile.) Also, is the butt weight just personal preference, or will it matter a lot? My pool cue is 19 oz, so I thought I should stick with 19oz for the Longoni as well.
If you have any other brands I should check out, post up some links. Helmstetters and Dieckman are a bit out of my price range
I was about to order the Black Fox from
www.tipsproshop.ca the other night, but their shipping and surcharges are outrageous.
Thanks for the help.
I owned a Longoni Black Fox (sold it), right now playing with a Longoni P8 with a Longoni Pro 2+. Perhaps I can give you some advices

.
First of all, from the Longoni perspective, only cues started at 3 stars are suited for 3 cushions. But even 3, 4 or 5 stars are not good cues to play play 3 cushion. For the pro, only the 5 star custom are the best to play 3 cushions. But I say it agian, this is only the Longoni perspective.
To me, I don't feel much differences between the Black Fox and the P8. They feel the same, and play the same. I consider the P8 as a good cue to play 3 cushion. So the Black Fox is also suites to play 3 cushion. As I told you, I have owned one. It is value for money. Great balance for less money.
The Pro2+ is a great shaft, that's for sure. It's a heavy shaft, heavier than the Pro2, it also got more deflection, but it play (feels) great. They sell it with an eiffel profile. It's perhaps a tiny bit more like an eiffel profile, but to me, it's still conical. I don't even think you will notice any eiffel profile on it. I've put a normal libre shaft next to my Pro2+ but didn't notice any difference on the tapper. Would I recommend it above a normal shaft? Yes I do! The extra length of 1,5 inch will give your more power. Also the more forward balanced (heavy shaft) will give you the extra power.
For the cue weight, you should get at least 18oz and higher. An heavier cue will give you more power (without accelarating too much). You can stick to a 19oz, but beware of 2 things. First, carom cues are butt heavy, poolcues are forearm heavy. So a 19oz carom will feel more heavier than a 19oz poolcue. The second, a Pro2+ will ad around 0,3oz extra weight on your cue, and balanced the cue a little more forward. I play with a 18.3oz cue. It feels light when you are holding the cue, but is quite heavy when you are playing with it. The original weight of my cue is 18oz. Because of the Pro2+ it makes it 18.3oz.
If you have any other questions, just ask.
