Looking for a cue maker

As stated, I am looking for a great cue maker who can build me a somewhat simple cue.

I am looking for a nice high figured curly maple cue with 4 railroad white on black rings in the usual spot.

Handle could be irish wrap or perhaps a nice wood to go with the cue. I would like a white phenolic butt cap as well as white phenolic joint. Matching ring work on shaft as well.

Please pm to see if we can make this happen.

Thanks

I'm not a cue maker but I think most, if not all, of the cue makers out there can produce what you're looking for. My advice to you is....Use the search function in "for sale" and "cue and case gallery" and see what is out there/has been made. Look at all of the recent for sale ads to see what's available. Make a determination of what you like/don't like and by cue maker. Most of them are on AZB. Your best bet is to seek them out, not the other way around. Keep in mind you might have to be on a waiting list depending on the "great" cue maker you decide to go with.

Know what your price range is beforehand. It will not only help you but also the cue maker when discussions start.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply guys. I started my search about 1 1/2 months ago and have sent emails and made calls to several cue makers with no response.

Maybe i just picked the ones that get hundreds of quotes a day or have contacted the wrong ones.

I look at the for sale every day but i am very cautions as i do not want to get burned. I found a cue that i like which was local. When i contacted the person they told me they couldn't meet and just wanted the money and they would ship it. :) My guess is the cue is not in good condition.

In any case my search continues :(

Thanks all.

Have you tried Dayton, Nitti, Rick Howard, or Gilbert? My 2 cents on cuemakers.

Bob Owen or Jerry Rauenzahn

If I trade places with you, I'd be on the phone with Bob Owen or Jerry Rauenzahn right now. But I have a cue Bob made for me and Jerry has one almost finished I ordered last May.

Both of my cues are very fancy designs and the attention, care and interest both cue-makers displayed with me was more than I could have ever hoped for. The workmanship on my Owen cue is over the top great and the progress photos I have of the cue Jerry is making for me is every bit as good. My Owen cue feels wonderful and plays even better.......I can't wait 'til my cue arrives from Jerry to compare.

Anyway, you can reach Bob at 316-269-3844 (KS) and Jerry can be reached at 814-723-8322 (PA) and these guys answer their phones, return calls and are just wonderful guys to work with when having a pool cue built.

Good Luck whichever way you proceed. You can mention my name and unconditional endorsement of either cue-maker and both guys will tell you I am a very precise customer when it comes to making a pool cue but nonetheless, they really enjoyed working with me and building my cue.....Both cue-makers are A++++....Nuf Ced.
