Looking for a cue that plays like an old Falcon

I made a post yesterday about my Cuetec Avid having a crack and I think even if they'll fix it under warranty I want to be done with it. I've bought and sold a lot of cues and the one I sort of regret selling was my old Falcon. It was just balanced and felt good to shoot with. A lot of these cues today feel too "plasticy" if that makes sense? Anyway, I think I want to look for a new cue that would feel like my old Falcon. Does anyone have any suggestions? As always...thanks!

Basically impossible to answer these questions. Just go hit a few til you find a cue you like. I had a couple Falcon's back in the day, nice cues. Everyone's 'cue feel' is different, you have to hit some and not rely on what others feel might be.

Forget Falcon. My cue plays like a Vulture.

An older Schon.

I picked up this 1st series F24 last week.

I know this is an older thread, but I always felt like Falcon hit was right in between an old Joss and an old Schon. I've had a few old Falcons and I thought they played great. Falcon made some cues for Brunswick and they play great too. I kept and old Falcon shaft and had it matched to my playing cue. That combo feels just like a Scruggs I had years ago. There are Falcons that are made in China, not sure how they play, but the old Canadian made ones have great shaft wood and taper.

Joss would generally be close, both in terms of construction, dimensions, pin and SS collar.
One thing about remembering the olden days is that we seem to have on rose tinted glasses and while the cue you had might have been a great cue, you being 20-30 years younger probably plays a huge part 😉

Try a Joss.

have you considered running an add in the "wanted" section for an old falcon cue

imo that will come the closest to replicating the playability you want at the most reasonable price

each cue individually has its own hit and feel.

you have to go thru many cues to find the perfect one for yourself. no way to order off the net for a cue.

best chance is to go to a pool room or pool company that will let you hit cues till you find the one to buy. but you guarantee you will buy one.

you dont have to chalk up new cues to feel the hit so you arent going to mess up their new cues. plus many have great used ones.
