I am looking to purchase a 6 blade slot cutter. Anybody know where I can purchase one.
Use a mill and a slitting saw or a router and a router bit from routerbits.com.rsmith_1972 said:I am looking to purchase a 6 blade slot cutter. Anybody know where I can purchase one.

I use the 6 flute .187 thick one when taking good cuts. Problem is it has some runout and I slow the router down.rhncue said:I've been using a 4-blade 3/16 cutter for awhile now when turning butts but it is getting dull. It did a pretty good job but since I'm going to replace it, just what is the consensus on which blade is the to use? I would imagine the most, and the widest, amount would be best but I don't know for positive as I haven't experimented. On saw shaft machines, I know that the right amount of teeth are needed. To many or not enough teeth are a detriment in the outcome of the smoothness of the shaft.

Could you please post them again or direct me to where I could find them. Thanks a Million!!WilleeCue said:To my knowledge that is the SAME cutter as the one from Everlast less the markup.
I made a custom arbor to hold the one on my Unique Taper/Shaper machine to get the runout down to an acceptable level.
I also wanted the arbor suported at the bottom not just hanging in space.
You should use a router speed control and slow the RPM down with the 6 tooth cutter.
A tip flying off at 30,000 RPM would be scary ... it has happened ... so make and use a good shield also.
I have posted photos of my Taper/Shaper setup in the past.
