Looking for a soft non-layered tip

I first started to play with Triangle and eventhough they are "hard" tips to begin with, I've always ask the tech guy to install a softer one. Now its impossible to find good ones, they all feel like its ceramic.

Then I moved on to Le Pro tips and I've had a few good ones but now its starting to be the same and they are all hard almost like phenolic.

I don't like the sound a layered tip makes so I'm looking for a soft "regular" tip.

Any suggestions?

You probably need an Elk Master. I never really liked them myself, I always thought they had too soft of a hit.

Pooldawg8 / Jeff Snowberger makes incredible milk dud tips from Elkmasters, and I love Triangle tips, but you may change your opinion about layered tips if you try an UltraSkin soft.

The only on-line place I've seen the Blue Diamonds are sites coming from the Far East. Do you know how to get them here in the States?

A "regular" soft tip is an Elk Master. If it makes any difference, Efren and Corey Duel both use them.

I've been using Blue Diamonds & Elk Masters all of my 46 years of playing. I doubt you will find a better non-layered soft tip. The layered Kamui Black SS is good for high humidity where I am but if it is dry climate the brown is probably better. Kamui is expensive when compared to the others that are very economical if not down right cheap.

Good Luck,

I installed a couple of brunswicks for a couple of friends that wanted to try a soft tip, they loved them. They seem to hold their shape real well and play great

I think how a tech puts on a tip change the hardness. There is this one guy that whatever tip you put on, its gonna hard as a rock.

I'm also a pain in the rear for them because I'm extremely picky about the sound it makes. I'm crazy like that.

Order the DUDS

Do yourself a favor and order the milk duds from pooldawg8. You won't be dissapointed at all. I bought ten of them and put 1 on my cue and gave the rest away. No complaints from anyone. They are very consistant too.
