Looking for Avatar help

I have been looking at all of the great Avatars and want one for myself.

I tried to make myself an Avatar, the first ones were too large so then I tried to get some software to shink it down then the colors did not look right on the test page. So currently no custom Avatar for Elvicash.

My question is what process is used to shrink bitmaps, jpegs.

What do I need to do to make one of the movie type.

What software is used.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

One way is to upload pics to a photobucket account and resize it there

If your using Windows, go into Paint. Bring up your BMP and use the skew feature.
