Looking for baggage

I checked out Southwest, and they also have the 62" luggage limit. Anything over 62 up to 80 inches, they can slap $50 oversize luggage fee. They allow you to check 2 bags free, and charge after that.

How lax is Southwest on the 62"? The only reason I'm looking at new luggage is so I can bring my cues, and likely those of my teammates to LV for the BCAPL.

does not charge for bags. Check for flight from your area.

I checked American and United and they also have the 62" luggage limit. If you never been dinged with an oversized luggage fee, maybe I'm worrying over nothing. Like those contract clauses that state they have the right to change the terms on you at any time without notice. Or maybe I'm making this a bigger deal than it should be, like last year's thread on banning phenolic tips for break cues at the BCAPL. Are they going to check each and every breakcue?

Has anyone been hit with an oversized luggage fee for flying with cues?

Sorry, I didn't see that part. I have never flown Jet Blue. We have limited options here in the middle of nowhere when it comes to flights. I've mostly flown American, Delta, and United.

The problem is, Murphy's Law. The *one time* that you think like this, and create your travel plans according to this assumption, *is* the one time that the 62" luggage limit will be enforced. Isn't that how it always works? I know it does with me.

I think you should continue to look for the type of bag that Sarah Rousey offered (Coleman is an exceptional brand when it comes to luggage that can really take the abuse), but why not try and chop-down on the width or the height (keep the length the same), to try and fall at or under the 62" linear limit?
