Looking for chalk?

I've spent a lifetime looking for you
league bars and good time poolhalls, never blue (green masters)
Playing a fools game, hoping to win
Telling those sweet lies and losing again.

I was looking for chalk in all the wrong places
Looking for kamui in too many faces
Searching their eyes, looking for traces
Of what.. I'm dreaming of...
Hopin' to find a piece of pre-flag
God bless the day I discover
gotta have heart, lookin' for chalk

When I was alone then, no chalk in sight
And I did everything I could to get me through the night
Don't know when my match started or where it might end
I turn to my coach, just like a friend

Looking for Blue Diamond in too many faces
Searching their eyes, looking for traces
Of what.. I'm dreaming of...

Are you trying to catch up to Tramp Steamer and Seven? Seven said he needs the orange crush from Tramp. I guess you need the blue through? Keep on Looking. Good post. JoeyA has some dry chalk if you need some chalk.

Around two years ago I tried Blue Diamond chalk and didn't like it because it was kind of moist. So after two years of letting it sit I thought I'd try it again and now it's nice and dry and good now.

You can make alot of friends by bringing a couple boxes of new chalk into a bar/hall.. I always have a few boxes on hand anyway.

I was in a local place recently, they had a wooden box of random pieces.. all together they didn't equal a whole cube. If you're not gonna provide chalk, why even have house cues?

Joey-Good find on the chalk. How many dust bunnies got evicted in the search?

We hide the chalk under the table on the frame.

Ongoing tradition-in elementary school, we would ask to go to the restroom before lunch. We would snag the best kickball/basketball from the ball rack and bury it in the restroom trashcan. Scam didn't last long. Soon, everybody was dashing for the bathroom when the lunch bell went off.

Another prime location for a potential treasure trove of chalk. :thumbup: Still, I like the idea of the lights warming up the chalk and keeping it dry. ;)

Last night, just curious if I would find another treasure trove of chalk on another light fixture, I climbed up on a stool and none was to be found. This was in the front part of the pool room where it would be easy to spot someone throwing chalk up onto the light fixture.

I checked one or two more light fixtures and no chalk, but I did spot a rather prime looking house cue on top of one of them. :thud:

Been up there a couple times..not a cue to be had..

A couple dead birds in the down spout was all..

Jims cues are in fair shape..
 
When the table mechs are redoing a valley table, they'll find plenty of chalk inside each one. Be there when they do.

Or, do as one of pool's best representatives does (one of my bum friends:wink:) and wait until the state tournament and just before it begins go through the room and steal all the new pieces you'll need for a year.:rolleyes:

I picked up a house cue and made a sweep across the light and a dozen pieces fell to the floor. Another swipe and another dozen pieces on the floor. All of them brand spankin' new. The chalk was probably heated from the warmth of the lights and the chalk was very dry and spread on my tip and I never miscued once after that. I left at least a dozen pieces on the light fixture for future archaeology forages. The dozens of other pool light fixtures will provide all of the perfect chalk I will need for decades. See if your pool room has a piece or two sitting there. :smilewinkgrin:

I like the way the heat from the lights keeps it nice and dry.
