There's a story that Luther Lassiter went an entire week without missing a shot....finally in his last match he hit one really hard, it jumped up out of the pocket, saw it was Luther and dove back in (the pocket).

Interesting responses... I can tell you the triangle and milk dudded elkmaster are medium tips... You can overpress either of them and raise the durometer but the internal leather fiber size and type do not have the resilience of a true hard tip... Soft tips transfer energy in the range of 50-57% mediums will transfer energy 58-66 and a hard will transfer 67-72%.... Engineered tips can go higher... Samsara comes in at 73% and Phenolics can go all the way upto 90%....
The durometer is only half the story. Our Soft, Medium and Hards ALL fall between 70 and 77 on a shore D durometer.. As far as energy our Ki-Techs fall in the higher end of the COR ranges... Our Soft is 55%, Medium is 64% and the Hard is 71%. The "Solid" Break Tip prototype we have is at 80% but I want another 3-4% before it releases so I keep modifying the chemicals and processing we use....
Most everyone can make a decent hard tip as they are generally always over 70 on the durometer so they generally hold up over time and don't mushroom so finding a hard to your liking is going to be about how well it grips and whether or not it glazes...
CJ was using our Hard... I think he mentioned his was worn out a few months back and I dogged sending out more LOL I don't begrudge him having the pooldawg milkduds on his shafts... They are a good tip for the price they just won't test out as a hard against any of the other tips on the market that are marked hard.. At least the ones that I have had a chance to test.....

seriously I am considering quitting layered tips and change to single layered.
I have ki-tech and milk duds in stock now and will try them one once my Tad wears out.
I am pretty tired of layered tips, from Kamui to G2, then ultraskin, ZAN and Tad, those were listed in the least favorite >> most favorite, I would recommend ZAN and Tad for anyone, but I am not perfectly satisfied with it, lets say 85% and 90%

ive been a layered tip guy for the last ten years and two weeks ago I finally tried a ki tech medium and I have to say im pretty sure im stickin with these tips for the forseeable future. very impressed with the way the ki techs play
