Hi guys I am looking to get back into pool and I am currently looking at seyberts.com for a affordable Predator, Pechauer, or Schon cue with a 314-2 shaft. I would want to get a opinion out of you guys on which cue do you guys think is the best option and reasons why. I also am looking for an affordable break cue and I looked at the Fury Break/jump, Thanks and I hope someone can help.

the fury BJ is a real good cue for the money, no problem there.
playing cue: since ur going to play with a 314 shaft u can chose the butt u prefer, the 314 will basically let them feel quite the same, more important will be:
weight (material)
joint (for feeling and balance)

just chose ur preferences and it will be ok

You can buy a Predator sneaky pete, plays as well as any other predator out there. if you have time and more money buy the New Limited edition predator roadline cues, they are all ebony and look really nice too. best value for money cue till date by predator. However they will be ready to ship on 25th july.

I would say go with the Pechauer.
I had a predator sneaky pete 8 arrows on Z2 shaft, liked it the first day i got it cos it's my first real cue after 7 yrs(just started playing again). It was doing draws and follows that were remarkable. Then I tried on my friends 314-2 shaft and I sort of liked it more, felt more solid and i guess thats my preference. So I was trying to sell my Z2 for a 314-2. Then someone came along and wanted me to help him find a cue and finally got a Pechauer Pro P10. Long story short, I sold the Sp8, kept the Pechauer P10 for myself cos I loved it too much...besides looking gorgeous I just love the way it hits. Even more so than my SP8 on 314. But I guess this is all subjective. The Pechauer is really gorgeously made and evidently the owner's so proud of them he signs all of them personally.
I'm still gonna give a LD shaft a try but am not going back to a predator, am gonna give OB2 a try.

P.S, I got my Pechauer from seyberts too.

I might look at the Pechauer cues with the 314-2 shaft and the Fury jump/break im going to look for a lower end one.

JIm Baxter

Check out Jim Baxter's offerings. He can put you in a real solid hitting cue for not a lot of $$.

Jim Baxter

Jim is more of a cue builder than what you might consider a cue seller. He will make a nice break cue for not a lot of $$$. Here are a few pictures of the one I had him make for me about a month ago.

If your interested in a great looking and hitting cue

If you are really interested I will take some photos, I have a JOSS from the late 90's and it has a regular shaft and a 314-2 as well so the price with the Predator is 600,with the Predator I would let it go for 500 it is a six point with internal Holly diamonds and very nice inlay in the butt sleeve as well. This cue is in the highest price point for JOSS , if you have any questions feel free to call me at 408*718*7075

Check out my Joe Baker's for sale...

PM's sent....

mike is a really great choice. - a bargin

Ask Earl Strickland how he like's his cue???? Spend as much as you can afford. Personally a custom cue will last your life time(anything from Mike does- lets not forget the great Player - mike was!!!!!!!! He Patented- things too( so a Pool inventor of sorts. There are a thousand over-production cues- what Joss and what Schon models Does dad Have(???)- Tell dad you'll just get New shafts - If you prefer the ld stuff- there are many options. (think ferrules shafts as well, think solid shafts ,even Mcdermott I shafts are good. New isn't always better than old- You can get the ld shaft from old shaftwood too !!- pm me I can help ( friend sells whole sale- can get you great prices-wholesale. get something that you will be proud to playwith for yrs. You will notice much more spending like 1000-1,200. az has many cues too choose from -what helps is what style do you use ,stroke ,balance ,roll shots ,bank,- what do you want to compete at (which games). thanks in advance- mark
