I am in the process of purchasing my first home, and im going to be purchasing my first pool table to go along with it. i have the space available for either and 8' or 9'. I can see the perks of each size. I grew up shooting on 9' brunswicks in a pool hall, which seemed to really tighten up my game, especially on long shots. However, i feel you encounter far less "traffic" on a 9footer. On the 8' table there is much more congestion and you find yourself shooting out of a jam for frequently. Since every league i shoot in is on all 8' bar boxes, with the exception of 2-3 locations being 9', i'm not sure what i want to be practicing on at home. My gut says just stick with the 8' since thats where the majority of the action takes place, but nothing makes you feel better than playing on a "real" table (9'). I'd love some of your guys' input. Sorry if this has already been discussed, did a quick search without any good results.
