I will be in daytona beach from may 4th thru the 7th and then the 7th till the 11th I will be in Tampa and would like to play in a few new places. Any information would be great.

The best place I've been to in the Daytona Beach area is Brown's Billiards. It's located a few miles inland off of Nova Rd in the town of Holly Hill. The address is "1595 N. Nova Rd" Phone: (386) 254-4763
You'll want to give them a call to get more precise directions because they're tucked in the back of a small strip mall. Very hard to spot from the road, and it helps if you're on the northbound side of Nova since there's a Jersey guard that prevents impromptu U-turns.
All 9ft GoldCrowns with Simonis; Super Aramith Pro Balls; reasonable prices; food and beer.

There's also Uncle Waldo's Billiards just a few miles south of Brown's Billiards also on Nova Rd. A bit more rundown; 9ft tables (unsure of the cloth; it's signifcantly slower than Simonis, but not quite the tall-grass). They have a free-entry tournament on Mondays(?), winner-take-all. The prize is a low-end cue (about 100 dollar value). Low prices.

There's also a place right on Atlantic Ave in downtown Daytona Beach. Beachside Billiards, I believe. But they only have 8ft tables, and naturally, a lot of bangers.

Only places I've actually been in. Check out www.playpool.com and use the poolhall finder feature. You'll get some other hits for places in the general area. Maybe you'll find something better. If you do, let me know. I have occasion to visit the Daytona Beach area with relative frequency.

And just when are coming to my house to play? You got the 5 ball here :)

For a list of poolrooms in Tampa or anywhere go to North America Poolplaying Establishments on web.

In the Tampa area there are about 10 of them. Bakers downtown Tampa is one of the action rooms. I would stop at Capone's in Spring Hill,Fl about 30 mi north of Tampa, but only about 20 min. on Vetrens pky.Very nice room & plenty of action.

Well, if you get on the Veterans Expressway on Hillsborough Ave. (by the airport) it's about 40-45 minutes to Capone's in Springhill. It's only 20 minutes if you're willing to go 125 m.p.h. and blow through the toll booths... Good luck !

I realize that you aren't going to the Miami area, however the thread title does say places to play in Florida. There's a room in south Miami at the corner of Sunset Drive and SW 117th Ave. called SharpshooterBilliards. It's on the second floor of a shopping center and has 14 - 4 1/2 X 9 Gold Crowns that are in good shape. Everday, 7 days a week, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. they have a special. It's $5.00 per person. BTW, that isn't $5.00 per hour...it's 5 bucks for any time or the ENTIRE time. What a deal!
