...on some table maintenance. It's an old Brunswick 9 footer - no idea on the model. It's at the American Legion post in Smyrna (where my folks went for a looooong time). It used to be looked after, but the main pool guy there passed away last year, and the table has gone to pot, especially the rails.

I spoke with the head guy there about getting it fixed up, and he said "Get me some quotes." hence, this message. :D

So if there's any table guys in the area reading this, or you know a table guy, please drop me a PM. I'll happily answer any questions on the table/etc. as needed.

I snapped a couple of photos of the table, which I'll attach later.

Not sure what the Legion is looking to pay but Mark Gregory is the guy to call. I highly recommend his work

Here is the last number I have for Mark
Perfect Pockets
352-208-3043 If that doesnt work I am sure you can get a number here
or from a pool room in Atl.

352 is a Florida area code, is it not?

Being a Legion post, I'm guessing their budget is nothing major - on top of that, they're about to start construction on a new building to move the post to.

That said, I don't think travel costs for someone to/from Florida is in the cards. :D

Looking for Quotes in Atlanta??

I found this one... have you heard it before?

Discrimination is a hellhound that gnaws at Negroes in every waking moment of their lives to remind them that the lie of their
inferiority is accepted as truth in the society dominating them

Your right ScottW most American Legions and Vet of F W's don't have much of a budget for this sort of thing. I hope some table mechanic in the area can see his way clear to give you a big price break. My Dad and I belonged to both in NY for years and a guy did all our work for cost. The word of mouth about this guy giving us a break came back to him ten fold from the members.
On a side note...did you ever notice the members that sit at the bar and brag about what hero's they were in the war...come parade day when all members had their uniforms on...the ones that never said a word had all kinds of medals and the ones that told all the war stories had none:D . Johnnyt

You might want to put this over on the Table Meechanis forum also ScottW. Johnnyt

Mark really does awesome work but, he is not very likely to give you a price break. He is very proud of his workmanship and charges a premium for it. There are a few decent table mechanics in the Atlanta area. It might be wise to hit a couple of the bigger pool rooms in the area and see who does their tables. The Marietta Billiard Room is a good place to start. Also, Mr.Cues just had their tables done in anticipation for the Viking tournament on the 20th-28th. The guys did a decent job on Mr.Cues so you might want to check them out as well. Good luck !:)

I DO NOT recommend the guy (whos name I will not mention) that has done Mr Cues the last couple of times. This last "job" he did is very poor. If you go to Atlanta for the SCO, you will see what I mean.
