Looking for Wrap Advice

I'm wanting to have a cue built that is pretty traditional design. It is a good match for what the maker does and for what I'm interested in right now.

Basically, Hoppe bumperless butt, Ebony butt sleeve and points, flame type verneers(blue, yellow, orange, red), straight grain maple forearm and a SS joint with a single ring on each side.

Given this type of traditional Hoppe style cue, what kind of wrap do you like?

- White with red spec linen - I like this, but basically linen is too slippery for my tastes and loose grip. So if I choose this, what can I or the cuemaker due to make it less slippery?

- Black leather wrap - Like it but black provides no contrast to ebony.

- Black embossed or real lizard - similar to above, but more luxurious and gloss distinguishes it some.

- Brown leather - gives contrast, but unsure how I will feel about brown on this cue.

- Red/Wine/Burgandy lizard - Nice contrast, good leather feel, veneer ties it in. Still, redish colors look good when they match well, but look weird when overdone or not matching.

Other? I would like ringtail lizard, but that is definately out of budget, as far as I know.

My only advice on wraps would be don't have a light colored wrap as they get dirty quick. Another issue is some want a slick feeling wrap rather than grippy wrap. Stacked leather is unique but I wouldn't know about the feel. Personally I'm a no wrap guy! Wood with wood.

I'd agree with no wrap..i love the feel of just a Clear Coated cue..so..
go with your favorite color..in this case seems..White with Red specs
Linen..and have it Clear Coated like other makers do..it is no slip and
your colors stay brilliant forever..mine has..JMO...SA

Just me, but I don't like coated wraps...they make me think Meucci.

Ever see a traditional ebony into maple which had wine or brown leather? I just can't get a feel for how that looks...

Medium brown ostrich, lizard, or nappa type pebbled finish. Would that look authentic. Basically, I want to look at it and say this is the cue Mosconi would use if he were here today!
