hey everyone. I'm looking for an ob2 or z2 to fit my new joss cue. I also have a 314/2 that fits a McDermott that has very little wear and a new tip that I would like to trade or sell if possible.

That's a great question. I hate to admit my ignorance lol but I don't know what the difference is between piloted or flat face joints. I'm relatively new when it comes to cue specifics. When I tried to research a lil , it seemed like it might be piloted. It's the JSM-50 if that helps?

I am a bit of a newbie too... you just have to know who to ask. I'm sure someone might chime in. I will take a look later today. I'm assuming piloted but, we'll see what someone else might add.
Thanks,
Chris

Flat Faced = Shaft and the butt of the cue are flat or flush.
Piloted = If there is open space around the pin that the pilot fits into.
Hope this helps.

im pretty positive its piloted because it has a steel insert as opposed to my Mcdermott 314 2 which was wood to wood. or im still confused lol :) thanx for your help!

You're better off with the piloted 5/16-14 than uni-loc (better feel). If it's piloted, there'll be a brass or wood/brass extension from the shaft that "pilots" into the open area around the pin. I've attached a pic of a 5/16-14 piloted joint - in this case with an ivory joint.

I have a Z2 in excellent condition. Not much play & very clean. 5/16-14 piloted. Black collar w/ silver ring.
$175 shipped USPS Priority - conus. PayPal included.

I have a ob-2 that I would trade for the 3/8 x10 314-2 (second from right)
